This evening was everything a concert-goer could wish for. A full palette of emotions, a harmonious audience, and passionate musicians who always find the right words to connect everybody. The well selected three encore songs showed once again the band’s wide range of musical styles. The calm SILENCE revealed their confidence by intriguing the listeners with only vocals, keyboard, and bass, followed by the short, speedy, and punkish BRAKE.

The last song, BIRD could be seen as the band’s hymn. It’s not the first time they play it to finish a set. Furthermore, birds are a recurring motif for Yellow Studs. Their logo includes two birds with headphones in human hands. It is no coincidence that the show’s title is Gokukutsubushi ga Naku Yoru (Evening of the Deadbeats Singing) written with ›鳴く‹ (Naku), Japanese for the sounds of birds and other animals instead of ›歌う‹ (Utau), meaning ›to sing‹.
